Leanne Smar

Leanne Smar is a Senior Geoscientist and Exploration Manager for B2Gold Corp's Finland Projects, focusing on gold exploration in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt since July 2018. Prior experience includes roles as Project Geologist at Kutcho Copper Corp., where exploration targeted porphyry copper, epithermal, and VMS deposits, and Black Sea Copper & Gold, concentrating on similar methodologies in the Balkans. Leanne's academic background includes a Master's degree in Structural Geology from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Carleton University. Early career experiences involve geological mapping and support roles with various organizations, including the Government of Northwest Territories and Geological Survey of Canada, enhancing expertise in diverse geological settings.
