Russ Fontaine is responsible for the B3 product roadmap, agile development, and managing the dev team. He has a broad wealth of experience in development of applications, models, and projects for the oil and gas and mining industries. He is a subject matter expert in injection wells and oilfield water management. Prior to B3, he held a position at IHS Markit where he managed a development team to build a web application for modeling well costs which included water sourcing, storage, transport, and flowback. He managed a SQL Server database and wrote scripts to deliver the cost data to an asset valuation platform, Power BI dashboards, and for insight reports relevant to unconventional production across all the major oil and gas plays in North America. Prior to IHS Markit, he worked for Schlumberger Water Services where he managed disposal well projects for in Wyoming and Colorado. He was responsible for managing the installation of the injection wells, fracturing, acidizing, testing, and reporting for approval by the Environmental Protection Agency. In the early part of his career, he worked as a Hydrogeologist for Geomega and Camp Dresser & McKee where he built basin level numerical models for to help manage impacts for mining and environmental projects.
Russ has a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A & M University and Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Colorado
