Rod Purves

Rod ensures the quality management systems at Babbage are interfacing correctly, and that contractors working on Babbage sites and fabricators supplying equipment for Babbage projects, have similar systems that are operating correctly. His work ensures the client can be confident they are getting service and installations of the highest standard. With his experience across a range of supervisory disciplines, Rod will also spot-check the quality of equipment fabricated for Babbage projects, and the detail of contractors’ work on their sites.

Rod qualified as a Sheetmetal tradesmen through the New Zealand Apprenticeship Board in 1981 and quickly moved into project supervisory roles and quality management, establishing his own business in 2001. He has worked throughout New Zealand as well as in Victoria and Tasmania, with stints in Denmark and San Francisco, and began working with Babbage in 2004Rod is an organizer, managing everything from equipment installation to wind turbine transport, but has specialized in dairy construction projects originating from the Babbage Hamilton office.
