Damian Smith

Damian Smith is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in systems engineering and leadership roles across various companies. Currently serving as a Senior Systems Engineer at Babcock International Group since June 2021, Damian previously held the position of Systems Group Leader for Naval Systems at Chess Dynamics Ltd from February to December 2020. As a co-founder and Chief Operations Officer at Moortec Semiconductor Limited from May 2005 to February 2020, and a co-founder and Operations Director/ASIC Design & Physical Layout Engineer, Damian contributed significantly to the company's establishment and growth. Prior experience includes roles as an Analogue ASIC Design and Physical Layout Engineer at Zarlink Semiconductor and Senior Integration & Communication Engineer at GKN Westland Helicopters. Damian holds a BSc(Hons) 2:1 in Electronic and Communication Engineering and an HND in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Plymouth.
