Stephen Spiess

Assistant Professor Of Early Modern Literature at Babson College

Stephen Spiess currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Early Modern Literature at Babson College, where teaching responsibilities include courses such as "Shakespearean Bodies," "Shakespeare’s Sex," and "The Sexual Renaissance." Prior to this role, Stephen was a Thinking Matters Fellow at Stanford University and held multiple instructional positions at the University of Michigan, including Primary Instructor for courses on women and literature, as well as Shakespeare. Between 2006 and 2007, Stephen gained experience as a Graduate Student at Dartmouth College and also contributed as a volunteer soccer coach. Earlier coaching roles include Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Middlebury College and teaching various humanities courses at St. Paul's School from 2001 to 2005. Stephen holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Michigan, a Master of Arts from Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
