Cirrus Gai is a Senior Research Engineer at BabylonChain Inc., with prior experience as a Research Engineer. Gai conducted research on scaling Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) consensus protocols at Alibaba Group as a Research Intern, and also explored the performance of BFT protocols for permissioned blockchains at Hyperchain Technologies. Previously, Gai contributed to the development of the consensus node for the Flow blockchain at Dapper Labs as a Backend Engineer. Gai also worked as a Research and Development Intern, focusing on blockchain consensus protocols, and served as a Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia. Gai holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology.
