Dave Grant

Dave Grant has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Dave began their career in 2010 as a Software Engineer at ThruPoint Ltd, where they worked on providing a remote API for call management. Dave then joined NetDev Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer, where they introduced performance improvements on a call-handling application. In 2011, they joined Monitise as an Engineering Team Lead, delivering mobile banking features to Visa.

Dave's experience in agile methodologies started in 2012 when they worked as a Scrum Master and Senior Software Engineer at Specific Media, designing and developing an application for capturing user analytics. Dave then moved to UCAS, where they helped deliver the 2014 release of the UCAS Teacher Training application.

In 2013, Dave joined Monitise as a Scrum Master, responsible for delivering the Monitise mPOS application. Dave also worked as an Agile Coach at Monitise FINkit, providing coaching and support across the organization.

Dave further expanded their agile expertise at Sorenson Media, where they worked as a Product Manager, responsible for the direction of the Spark TV Analytics product. Dave introduced various agile practices to the company, such as impact mapping, user story mapping, Lean UX, and Large Scale Scrum (LeSS).

From 2017 to 2020, Dave worked at DevOpsGroup, first as an Agile Coach, and then as a Lead DevOps Consultant. Dave consulted with customers to diagnose and solve software delivery problems, focusing on Agile software development, DevOps, and Cloud computing. Dave also collaborated with AWS on introducing a modern operating model to a FTSE 100 telecoms company and designing an architectural governance process for on-premise to cloud infrastructure migration.

Currently, Dave is working at Backbase as a Lead Product Manager, initially brought in as a Product Owner for Audit capabilities. Dave later expanded their role, taking on additional product ownership for User Management.

Overall, Dave Grant has a strong background in agile methodologies, product management, and software engineering, with a focus on delivering high-quality products and improving software delivery processes.

Dave Grant obtained a BSc degree in Accounting from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, which they attended from 1997 to 2000. In addition, they have received several certifications including Cloud Native Twelve-Factor Applications, Microservices Foundations, Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design, Flight Levels, BCS Foundation Level Certificate in DevOps, Kanban Management Professional II, Kanban Management Professional I, BCS Foundation Level Certificate in Agile, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Professional, Certified ScrumMaster, Sun Certified Java Developer, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner.
