Leon Walsh has over two decades of experience in safety, health, and environmental roles. Leon currently serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer and VP of SHS & Transportation Compliance at Badger Daylighting Corp. Prior to this, they held various positions at AECOM, including Vice President of Safety, Health, and Environment, and Senior Director of Global Oil and Gas. Leon also worked at URS Corporation as the Director of Safety for Projects, Pipelines, and Production Services. Before joining these companies, Leon had roles at Cenovus Energy, PCL, Flint Energy Services, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association. Throughout their career, Leon has demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Leon Walsh earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree with a Speciality Track in Innovation and Leadership from the University Fredericton, completing the program between 2014 and 2016. Before that, between 1997 and 2005, they studied Health and Safety Management at the College of the North Atlantic. In 2001 and 2002, they pursued a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Memorial University and York University, while simultaneously obtaining a Center for Management Development and Schulich School of Business degree. Furthermore, Leon possesses a Certificate in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Memorial University of Newfoundland, which they acquired from 1992 to 1995. In addition to their educational background, they hold certifications as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional from BCRSP and is also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
