Peter Bird

Peter Bird is an accomplished engineering and program management professional with extensive experience in the defense industry. Currently serving as Systems Engineering Lead at BAE Systems, Inc. since April 2014, Peter manages development for DoD programs involving SIGINT sensor upgrades and oversees cost, schedule, and technical performance. Prior to this role, Peter worked as a Program Manager at BAE Systems from October 2007 to March 2013, focusing on program coordination and compliance. Peter's career began at L3 Technologies as Technical Director, where responsibilities included systems engineering and customer support. Earlier experience includes serving as a Software Engineer at California Microwave, Inc., developing real-time server applications. Peter holds an MBA from the University of New Hampshire-Manchester, an MS in Software Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.
