Jonathan Hey, P.Geo has a diverse work experience. Jonathan started their career as a Senior Race Team Coach at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in 2007. In 2010, they joined Baffinland as a Geologist and worked there until 2016. At Baffinland, they gained experience in planning and executing regional exploration programs for iron ore and precious metals. Jonathan also supervised geophysical surveys and managed a team of contract geologists, geophysicists, and geotechnicians. In 2012, Jonathan became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Western University, where they taught laboratory sessions to undergraduate students. In 2017, they returned to Baffinland and held various roles, including Exploration Manager and currently, Director of Strategic Planning. Throughout their career, Jonathan has demonstrated their expertise in geology and strategic planning.
Jonathan Hey, P.Geo has a strong education background in the field of geology. Jonathan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science from the University of Victoria, where they studied from 2007 to 2012. Following this, Jonathan pursued further academic achievements and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geology from Western University, completing their studies between 2012 and 2019.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Jonathan also holds professional certifications. Jonathan is a certified Professional Geoscientist, accredited by the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and the Northwest Territories Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists. These certifications were obtained in August 2018. Jonathan also holds a Possession & Acquisition Licence (PAL) issued by the Government of Canada, although the precise timeline for obtaining this license is not provided.
