James Hayton is an experienced professional in human factors and safety culture, currently serving as Principal Consultant at The Keil Centre since January 2023, and leading Human Factors and Safety Culture initiatives at Baines Simmons Limited since November 2014. Previous roles include Senior Human Factors Engineer at BAE Systems, where James conducted HMI assessments for the Panavia Tornado cockpit upgrade, and various positions within the Royal Air Force from 2006 to 2012, including OC Engineering Support Squadron and lead on UAV project certifications. Academically, James holds a Master of Science in Human Factors and Safety Systems in Aeronautics from Cranfield University and has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leicester, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Staff Course from other institutions.
