Jermu Pulli has a diverse work experience starting from 2007. Jermu began their career as a summer worker at PMC Polarteknik Oy, where they focused on technical research and wrote a bachelor thesis. In 2010, Jermu joined Cargotec Corporation as an R&D Engineer, specializing in the use of PEM fuel cells in cargo handling applications. Jermu also completed their Master's thesis on heavy port equipment hybridization with PEM fuel cells during their time at Cargotec.
In 2013, Jermu moved to Arcola Energy, where they held two roles. As a Compliance Manager, they led internal company development projects and served as the Project Manager and Technical Lead for Arcola's fuel cell manufacturing program. In addition, they managed and delivered multiple engineering projects and was responsible for coordinating and implementing technical regulations, codes, and standards for fuel cell and hydrogen technologies. Jermu also supported successful research funding applications related to fuel cells and hydrogen technology.

In 2007-2008, Jermu participated in the Erasmus program and studied Industrial Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
