Ian Stewart

Ian Stewart is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in fuel cell technology and hardware development. Currently serving as Manager of Stack Engineering at Ballard Power Systems since October 2011, Ian has led various projects, including Automotive OEM initiatives, focusing on component-level requirements, design verification, and customer engagement. Through previous roles such as Unit Cell Engineer, Ian contributed to achieving world-class stack power density and developed advanced modeling tools that significantly reduced analysis time. An academic background includes a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria and a BASc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. Additionally, Ian has experience as a research assistant and has worked independently as a professional poker player, utilizing analytical skills in decision-making contexts.
