Joyen Vakil has a diverse and extensive work experience in the design and development field. Joyen currently holds the position of SVP of Design & Development at Bally's Corporation since 2022. Prior to this, Joyen was the CEO of Pluum Design starting from 2019.
Before joining Bally's Corporation and Pluum Design, Joyen worked at WITKOFF as the EVP of Architecture & Design from 2020 to 2021. During their time at WITKOFF, they led the design efforts on the Drew project until it was sold, and also played a key role in the repositioning of Park Lane, NY.
From 2014 to 2019, Joyen served as the Senior Vice President of Design and Development at MGM Resorts International. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Design and Development at the same company from 2011 to 2014, where they led design and development efforts for various capital projects.
Joyen's career began at MGM Resorts International in 2000, where they worked as the Executive Director of Architecture City Center from 2004 to 2011, and prior to that, as the Director of Architecture from 2000 to 2004. Before joining MGM Resorts, they worked as a Project Architect at Steelman Partners from 1995 to 2000.
Joyen Vakil obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree from L.S. Raheja School of Architecture in the years 1984-1989. Joyen then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Building Design with an emphasis in CAD from Arizona State University from 1989-1992. Later, they pursued an MBA in Finance and Marketing from UNLV Lee Business School in the years 1998-2000. In addition to their education, Joyen obtained certifications including the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certification (NCARB) and Registered Architect - Nevada from NSBAIDRD, both in the year 2000.
