Mac Campbell, CVE is the Executive Director at the 1.2 million sq ft Baltimore Convention Center. He is responsible for the overall planning, operations, and activities that take place within the organization. Mac's role is to lead the Center and ensure a positive economic impact on Baltimore. Some of his tasks include but are not limited to overseeing capital projects, developing marketing strategies, and establishing partnerships with stakeholders.
Mac has worked for the BCC since 2012 when he began his career as the Director of Client Services. He has experience in managing a department of over 70 employees and leading day-to-day operations within the facility. Throughout his time with the organization, Mac worked his way up and was promoted to Deputy Director in 2017. He worked directly under then Executive Director, Peggy Daidakis and managed the venue's senior staff team, and played a key role in making long-term decisions driving the organization to success.
Establishing Green Initiatives of the BCC has been a big focus for Mac, including the facility receiving APEX/ASTM Green Meetings certification in 2015. He also takes pride in the efforts the Center takes to partner with local charities in Baltimore to not only have staff volunteer but to divert many of the unused goods from conventions to support their various missions.
Prior to coming to the Baltimore Convention Center, Mac spent seven years at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland. As Operations Manager his responsibilities included event set-up coordination and building maintenance supervision of both a new 2,000-seat concert hall and a 114-year-old historic colonial mansion on 11 acres of grounds.
Mac received his Bachelor's Degree from Elon University with a major in Corporate Communications and General Music and a minor in Jazz Studies.
