Monica Pence Barlow has a strong background in public relations, with a focus on professional sports. Monica started their career as a Public Relations Assistant for the Richmond Braves, where they managed various responsibilities including a fan attendance rewards program and overseeing a gameday staff. Monica then moved on to the Baltimore Orioles as the Director of Public Relations. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating communication between the club, media, fans, and players, as well as overseeing all editorial content for game programs and the yearbook.

Monica Pence Barlow attended William & Mary from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a BA degree in Public Policy.
