Philipp Benner

Philipp Benner currently serves as the Deputy Head and Acting Head of the eScience Group at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung, specializing in machine learning research since August 2020. Prior to this role, Philipp held a postdoctoral researcher position at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics from June 2015 to July 2020. Philipp's early experience includes an internship at emlix GmbH in software development for embedded Linux systems in 2005. Philipp obtained a Doctor rerum naturalium (Dr. rer. nat.) in Computer Science from the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (2010-2015), a Master of Science (MSc ETH) in Neuroinformatics from ETH Zürich (2008-2010), and a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrueck (2005-2008), with additional studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2007.
