John Bambenek

John Bambenek is an experienced cybersecurity professional and educator currently serving as an adjunct faculty member at the University of South Carolina School of Information Science. As the president of Bambenek Consulting, LTD, John provides a range of cybersecurity services, including incident response and forensics. In addition to teaching at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where John instructs cybersecurity courses, John has held various notable positions, including Principal Threat Hunter at Netenrich, Inc., and Vice-President of Security Research and Intelligence at ThreatSTOP, Inc. John's commitment to education extends to the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Board of Higher Education. With ongoing doctoral studies in Informatics and a Master's in progress in Theology, John has a diverse educational background that complements extensive professional experience in cybersecurity and charitable efforts through The Tumaini Foundation.
