Paulo Barbosa

Paulo Barbosa has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2019, they founded Xpandvertex, where they served as the Owner and CEO. In this role, they helped financial institutions adapt to the digital ecosystem and navigate regulatory changes. Paulo provided expertise on regulations such as PSD2 and eIDAS Standards and assisted banks in implementing their Open Banking platforms. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, they worked as an Independent Consultant at PRETA SAS. Paulo also served as a Service Management Coordinator at MyBank from 2013 to 2016 and as a MyBank Coordinator at EBA CLEARING in 2012. Furthermore, they gained experience as an Export Assistant at Maquitrans from 2011 to 2012 and as a Youth Leader at Take Off Youth from 2005 to 2011. In 2010, they worked as a Program Coordinator at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD). Most recently, they joined Banfico as the COO in November 2021.

Paulo Barbosa pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2006 to 2010, they attended Sciences Po Bordeaux and completed a Master 1 degree in Carrieres europeennes. Following this, from 2008 to 2010, they pursued a Mestrado degree at FEUC - Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra. Finally, from 2016 to 2017, they enrolled in the IE Business School, where they attained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree as a member of the Class of 2017.
