Ritah Karungi Butime

Ritah Karungi Butime currently serves as the Head of the Financial Innovation Unit within the Financial Inclusion Division at the Bank of Uganda, a position held since March 2012. Prior to this role, Ritah worked as a Senior Banking Officer-Accounts at the same institution, as well as an Executive in Revenue Recognition at Warid Telecom. Early career experiences include roles as a Communication Specialist at USAID-STAR and a Content Executive at smsmedia LTD. Academically, Ritah has pursued extensive education in finance and policy, including a Master's Degree in Finance from Uganda Management Institute and a Master's in Public Policy with a focus on Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies. Additional educational credentials include training at Harvard Business School and The Fletcher School at Tufts University, where participation in leadership programs for financial inclusion was achieved.
