Irena Drmaž

Irena Drmaž is a seasoned professional in economic and fiscal policy with extensive experience in the public sector. Currently serving as the Director of Financial Statistics at Banka Slovenije since September 2022, Irena has held various significant roles, including Secretary and Director General of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia from April 2017 to September 2022. Additional notable positions include serving as Ministre Délégué for EU budget negotiations and Deputy Director of the Budget Department, along with leading various economic and financial policy initiatives. Irena's career also includes key contributions at the Government Office for Development and European Affairs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, alongside foundational work at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. Irena holds a Master's degree in Finance and Macroeconomics from the University of Ljubljana.
