Andreas Costa has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and finance industry. Andreas began their career as an Analyst at Anglo Irish Bank in 2004 before becoming a Relationship Manager in 2006. In 2010, they joined Lloyds Banking Group as an Associate Director, where they dealt with Corporate Real Estate exposure and gained experience in debt and corporate restructuring.
In 2014, Andreas took on a role at CR Investment Management GmbH, where they initially served as a Director before becoming a Managing Director in 2017. During their time at CR Investment Management, Andreas was responsible for setting up the Special Situations Business and played a key role in fundraising. Andreas also led the creation of the European Credit Opportunities business, focusing on mid-market lending opportunities across core European markets.
Most recently, Andreas has been working at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), where they initially served as an Executive Director in Real Estate Finance from 2019 to 2022. Andreas then took on the role of Head of Real Estate Finance, Europe & Americas before being promoted to Managing Director and Head of International Real Estate Finance in 2023.
Throughout their career, Andreas has demonstrated their expertise in real estate finance, credit opportunities, and strategic decision-making. Andreas has also proven their ability to lead and manage teams, as well as their strong analytical skills in dealing with distressed exposures.
Andreas Costa has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management & Finance from the University of Glasgow, which they obtained between 1999 and 2003. In 2012-2013, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking and Finance at Bangor University. Andreas also holds a Certificate in Investment Planning from The Chartered Banker Institute, completed in 2008, and achieved Chartership in Banking and Financial Support Services from the same institute between 2006 and 2008. Additionally, in 2018-2019, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Football Business from the Johan Cruyff Institute.
