John Westwood

John Westwood has extensive experience in the banking industry, with their most recent role being SVP & Controller at BankNewport since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Northmark Bank from December 2020 to October 2022, leading the accounting unit and developing the bank's CECL methodology. From 2009 to 2020, John held the position of First SVP, CFO & Treasurer at Mansfield Bank, where they led the finance, deposit operations, and business intelligence functions and oversaw the data processing core vendor selection process. Before that, they served as VP & Controller at Benjamin Franklin Bank from October 2005 to April 2009, and as SVP & Controller at Bank Rhode Island from December 1996 to October 2005.

John Westwood has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut. John also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Accounting from the University of New Haven.
