Daniel Valdés

Daniel Valdés has held various roles in the financial industry throughout their career. Daniel started working in risk analysis at Banco Santander in 2000 and then moved on to BBVA as an Operational Risk Analyst in 2004. In 2005, they joined ABN AMRO Bank N.V. as a Risk Manager and later worked as the Director of Risk Management & Control at UBS in 2008. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Brokerage Compliance Consultant at Wells Fargo Advisors. Daniel then joined Citi in 2011 as the SVP of Global AML Advisory, where they worked until 2016. Following that, they held the position of Director of Financial Crimes Compliance at BankUnited from 2016 to 2020. Currently, they are serving as the Director of Advisory and Strategic Initiatives at BankUnited.

Daniel Valdés has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from Florida International University. Daniel also holds various certifications including the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Series 7, and Series 66.
