Oleg Paliivets

Oleg Paliivets has a diverse work experience in the field of data architecture and governance. Oleg started their career in 2002 at Scotiabank, where they served as a Senior Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Specialist and was involved in implementing architecture principles and standards for enterprise IT architecture. Oleg then moved to Assurant, where they worked as a Business Intelligence Data Services professional, focusing on optimizing design and performance of data marts and addressing data quality issues.

In 2011, Oleg joined Sapphire Technologies as a Business Intelligence Consultant and later joined Vitaver & Associates, Inc. as a Data Architect Consultant.

Since 2013, they have been associated with BankUnited, where they have held multiple roles. Oleg started as an Assistant Vice President and Data Architect III, managing the architecture team and designing and deploying the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Later, they served as an Application Delivery Manager for Data Architecture and then became the Vice President and Head of Data Governance. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President and Head of Data Architecture Engineering and Enterprise Reporting.

Oleg Paliivets completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology at the University of Liverpool from 2012 to 2016. Oleg also obtained various certifications, including Certified Professional Leader of Business Relationships and Certified Professional Leader from PeopleTek Coaching in 2023. In addition, they have certifications in AWS Cloud Practitioner Essential Virtual Training, Big Data on AWS, Building a Serverless Data Lake on AWS from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020 and 2019 respectively. Oleg also holds a Certified Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance obtained in 2019 and a TOGAF Certification Program from The Open Group obtained in 2007.
