Shiva Birdi

Shiva Birdi, MD is the chief executive officer of Banner Medical Group (BMG). He drives strategies to positively influence the patient experience and uphold clinical quality standards to improve services and outcomes. He oversees financial stewardship to increase efficiencies and resource utilization positioning us well for future growth, market expansion and innovation. Furthermore, he supports the network of providers aligned to risk-based reimbursement, allowing us to grow value-based collaborative care helping to keep the communities healthy.

Since joining Banner in 2011, he’s held an impressive variety of physician leader positions, including physician executive for Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. In this role, he’s led and participated in numerous operational and clinical projects across the Banner Gateway Medical Center campus and east regional sites.

Board certified in Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesiology, Dr. Birdi has actively recruited numerous physicians, advance practice providers and leaders across multiple specialties. He’s also been named in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors in 2019 and 2020.
