Nihal Elwan

Nihal Elwan currently serves as CEO of Tayybeh Foods and is the Team Leader for the Countering Gender-Based Violence Initiative at Banyan Global. With a background in consulting for The World Bank, Nihal authored a significant report on gender disparities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing recommendations for policymakers based on extensive gender analysis. Previous roles include Senior Programme Assistant at the UNDP Regional Centre for Arab States and Co-Author for the Egypt Human Development Report 2010. Nihal has also conducted important research on Female Genital Mutilation in Oman, worked with the ILO on employment issues in Egypt, and held various positions focused on socio-economic research and impact evaluation in Egypt. Nihal holds a Master of Science in Anthropology and Development from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The American University in Cairo.
