Raveen Kumaran

Raveen Kumaran has extensive work experience in the technology and research fields. Raveen started their career as an intern at TRIUMF Particle Accelerator Facility in 2002. Raveen then worked as a Praktikant at ABB Corporate Research in 2004. In 2005, they joined The University of British Columbia as a Research Assistant in the Advanced Materials and Process Engineering Lab. From 2013 to 2016, Raveen worked as an Optics R&D Engineer at MTT Innovation Inc. Raveen then joined Barco in 2016 as a Senior Research Engineer, where they contributed to the development of HDR Light Steering technology for Cinema Projection. In 2017, they took on the role of HDR Imaging Scientist and Optics Lead at Barco. Currently, Raveen holds the position of Technology Director at Barco, a position they have held since March 2020.

Raveen Kumaran obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering Physics (Electrical Option) from The University of British Columbia between 1999 and 2004. Raveen later pursued a PhD in Physics (Optical materials) at the same university from 2006 to 2012.
