Ramon Small-Ferguson, CFA®, FRM®, CAIA®, has an extensive work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Ramon is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Barita Unit Trusts Management Company Ltd. at Barita Investments Limited. In their role as Executive Vice President, Investments, they had direct responsibility for key revenue areas and oversaw various functions within the company. Prior to that, they held roles as Executive Vice President, Asset Management & Research, Vice President, Asset Management & Research, Chief Investment Strategist & Head of Research at JN Fund Managers Limited, and Portfolio Manager, Treasury & Investments at Jamaica National Building Society. Additionally, they have held positions at various organizations including serving as the President of Jamaica Securities Dealers Association, Director at Ecommerce Property Services Company Ltd. and Digita Global Marketing Ltd., Alternate Director at Jamaica Stock Exchange, and Member Trustee of the Contributory Pension Scheme of Jamaica National Building Society & Subsidiary Companies.
Ramon Small-Ferguson, CFA®, FRM®, CAIA®, obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Quantitative Management from NYU Stern School of Business from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Banking and Finance & Marketing at the University of Technology, Jamaica from 2008 to 2012.
In addition to their educational background, Ramon holds several certifications. Ramon became a CAIA Charterholder in November 2019 through the CAIA Association. In August 2017, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential from the CFA Institute. Ramon also obtained the Financial Risk Manager® (FRM) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in January 2016. Ramon completed a Supervisory Management Certificate from the Management Institute of National Development (MIND) in September 2015. Furthermore, they acquired the Jamaica Securities Course certification from the Jamaica Institute of Management in September 2012.
