Angela Yen

Angela Yen has over 10 years of work experience in various roles within the creative industry. Angela is currently working at BARKER as a Senior Art Director, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Art Director at BARKER from March 2022 to June 2023. Before joining BARKER, Angela worked at Wasserman X as a Designer from March 2021 to March 2022. Angela also worked as a Designer at Once Upon a Time / IdeaWork Studios from December 2019 to December 2020 and as a Senior Designer at Sawyer Studios from August 2018 to December 2019. Additionally, Angela has experience as a Graphic Designer at FilmRise from June 2017 to August 2018, as a Marketing Assistant (Part-time) at the Museum of Vancouver from May 2016 to January 2017, and as a Graphic Designer (Contract) at Vancouver International Film Festival, Vancity Theatre, and Film Centre from June 2016 to November 2016. Angela started their career as an Executive Assistant at Thunderbird Entertainment from February 2014 to June 2016 and gained early experience as a Copywriter and Jr. Graphic Designer (Intern) at CLOU Studio from July 2013 to October 2013.

Angela Yen has a strong education background in the field of design and arts. In 2007, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at The University of British Columbia, where they focused on a double major in English Literature and Film Studies. After completing their degree in 2012, Angela continued their education at the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2013, earning a Certificate in Graphic Design. In 2017, they attended the School of Visual Arts to further enhance their skills in Typography and Branding.
