In November 2015 Amit Mohan became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Amit was identified through a nationwide search and is an experienced leader with over 20 years of clinical and leadership expertise in healthcare. Previously Amit served as Executive Director for Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Brick, New Jersey. He functioned in a CEO capacity for the not-for-profit rehabilitation hospital established as a joint venture by two of the leading New Jersey health systems. Under his leadership, achievements included the expansion of access to care, the addition of new programs, improved patient outcomes, community engagement, and team member experience. He was also credited with achieving solid financial performance and consistent growth. Previously, he held various leadership positions across the post-acute continuum and in acute care hospitals.
Amit earned his Doctorate in Business Administration at North Central University. He earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Delhi in India. Amit has completed many executive education programs including the General Management Program ( GMP) from Harvard Business School and the Executive Program from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He has also completed the Improvement Advisor program with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and holds the Green Belt in Lean Sigma from the Armstrong Institute of Patient Safety at Johns Hopkins University. Amit has achieved fellow status (FACHE) with ACHE and fellow status with the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). He is a licensed Physical Therapist in California and was Board Certified in Geriatrics Physical Therapy.
