Associate HE Teacher at Barnsley College

Jed Wright has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jed is currently working as the Principal Outdoor Instructor at Leeds Beckett University. Prior to that, they worked at Barnsley College as an Associate HE Teacher, where they gained 10 years of experience in the outdoor activity industry, coaching activities such as kayaking, sailing, and climbing.

Jed also held positions at Chesterfield College, where they served as an Inclusion Manager and a Progress Coach Team Leader. During their time at Barnsley College, they worked as a Sport and Public Services Teacher, Level 3 Public Services Course Leader, and an Associate Teacher.

Before transitioning into the education sector, Jed was the Chief Instructor/Director at TNT Adventures Ltd, an outdoor activity provider. Jed also worked as a Tutorial Learning Mentor at Barnsley College and as a Personal Advisor at Doncaster Connexions.

Their early career included roles as a Water Sports Supervisor/Instructor at Rother Valley Country Park, an Outdoor Activity Instructor at Ulley Activity Centre, and a Sessional Worker at Doncaster Youth Offending.

Jed's extensive work experience reflects their expertise in outdoor activities, teaching, mentoring, and leadership roles.

Jed Wright began their education journey in 2010 at The University of Huddersfield, where they pursued a Certificate of Education. Jed went on to Leeds Beckett University from 2012 to 2014, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma (Level 7) in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities.
