Chad Hudson has a diverse work experience in the visual effects (VFX) industry. Chad most recently served as the Global Head of Production at Barnstorm VFX since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Industrial Light & Magic as a Senior VFX Producer from February 2020 to April 2022.
Chad has also held various roles at Rhythm & Hues, including Vice President of Production / Executive Producer / VFX Producer from October 2014 to February 2020. In this position, they oversaw the studio's operations, managed show schedules, collaborated with producers for artist allocation, and maintained positive cash flow. Chad also acted as an Executive Producer, generating new business and maintaining client relationships.
Before joining Rhythm & Hues, Chad worked as a VFX Coordinator at Lionsgate and Universal Pictures. At Lionsgate, they managed a previsualization team, developed schedules, and assisted in script breakdown and budgeting. At Universal Pictures, they were responsible for extracting digital and shoot elements from scripts, managing storyboard schedules, and implementing previz schedules.
Chad's earlier experience includes working as a Digital Producer and VFX Coordinator at Rhythm & Hues, as well as a VFX Coordinator at Tabcum Entertainment. Chad also freelanced as an Editor, specializing in HDSLR workflow, media management, and collaborating with directors to establish cuts.
Prior to their VFX career, Chad worked at LightSpeed VT as the Director of Production and Senior Editor, overseeing project operations and managing staff. Chad was responsible for production and post-production scheduling, as well as editing a wide variety of content for clients such as Gold's Gym, Subaru, Ford Motors, and more.
Chad's career in the visual effects industry began at Future Medium, Inc. as a Visual Effects Engineer, where they provided technical support to major VFX houses and resolved system issues during the delivery of feature films, commercials, and music videos.
Chad Hudson obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Video Production from The Art Institute of California Los Angeles. Chad attended the institution from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, they pursued further studies in Video Production at the same institute in 2004.
