Sam Baker Pe

Sam Baker, PE, is an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in power delivery and substation design. Currently employed at Barr Engineering Co. since October 2019, Sam focuses on protection and controls design for high voltage and extra-high voltage substation and switchyard projects. Previous roles include positions at High Energy Inc. and Black & Veatch, where responsibilities encompassed various aspects of electrical engineering, particularly for substations with voltage levels ranging from 26 to 500 kV. Sam also gained early experience as an electrical engineering intern at Huntington Ingalls Industries, contributing to the design of low voltage AC distribution systems for naval projects. Sam holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Hope College.
