Erin McCarthy is a story editor at Barron's. Erin was previously a deputy editor at Newsday Media Group, where they oversaw trending coverage by two reporters, developed and assigned alternative storytelling pieces, and edited stories for the print edition. Prior to that, they were a digital editor at The Wall Street Journal, where they curated and helped oversee presentation of articles on digital platforms, produced and edited multimedia elements, and co-managed the section’s Twitter account. Erin has also worked as a reporter for WNYC Radio and Dow Jones Newswires, and as a multimedia intern for NBC Universal. Erin began their career as a classroom teacher for the New York City Department of Education.
Erin McCarthy has a B.A. in English and Spanish from Mount Holyoke College and a Master's Degree in Journalism from the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. Erin also has a Master's Degree in English Education from Fordham University.
