Ashok Gowda has over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Ashok began their career in 1998 as President & CEO of BioTex, Inc., a product development firm and incubator for novel medical device technologies. In 2021, they became a Partner at MedTex Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early and commercial-stage medical devices. In 2022, they joined the board of Ictero Medical, a medical device startup developing a novel cryoablation system to treat high-risk patients with gallstone disease. That same year, they became a Medical Device Advisor at pH Blueprint, a strategic advisory practice focused on early and late stage startups and well-established companies. In 2019, they took on the roles of Acting CEO and Board Member at Bayou Surgical, Inc. and Voyager Biomedical, respectively. In 2018, they joined the board of Alleviant Medical. In 2017, they became Acting CEO of E-SAFE Medical, Inc. In 2012, they founded Base Pair Biotechnologies, Inc. and in 2015, they became a Board Member at Shape Memory Medical Inc.
Ashok Gowda completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University between 1987 and 1991. Ashok then went on to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, which they completed in 1998.
