Oliver Vince

Oliver Vince is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse range of experiences. Oliver is the Co-Founder of Basecamp Research since December 2019. Oliver obtained their PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Oxford and focused on targeted and enhanced drug delivery to metastatic brain tumors. Oliver successfully developed a technique through ideation to validation, which resulted in two pre-clinical studies. Oliver has published 5 journal articles and presented at 9 conferences. Additionally, they served as an Expedition Leader for Return to Vatnajokull, where they completed a metagenomics research project alongside their PhD studies. This project received support from commercial sponsorship and 11 research bodies. Oliver also worked as an Undergraduate Tutor for the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, teaching Biomedical Fluid Mechanics modules and providing exam preparation. Prior to this, they served as the President of Engineers Without Borders - Oxford (EWBOx), managing the local, national, and international operations of 8 teams. Oliver's other experiences include a Business Strategy Internship at DanMedical Ltd, where they conducted research to develop strategies and identify market opportunities. Oliver also developed a software package to optimize doctor-patient communications for remote areas. Finally, Oliver worked as a Research and Development Engineer for the University of Oxford iGEM team, where they led a synthetic biology research project involving hardware development and the design and engineering of a chlorinated waste disposal system using genetically engineered bacteria.

Oliver Vince completed their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Master of Engineering degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford. Oliver pursued this degree from 2012 to 2016. Oliver then continued their academic journey at the same institution to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Oliver completed their PhD studies between 2016 and 2019.
