Melanie van der Merwe has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the marketing and brand management field. Most recently, they have held the role of Head of Brand Experience & Marketing as a Service at Bash since October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Marketing at divbrands from November 2020 to October 2021.

Melanie also has extensive experience with Superbalist.com, where they held multiple roles over a period of six years. Melanie started as an Assistant Curator in May 2014 but quickly progressed to the role of Assistant Content Editor in October 2014. After that, they took on the role of Managing Editor from February 2015 to September 2016, focusing on developing the editorial content strategy and overseeing content production. Later, they became the Head of Content & Engagement from September 2016 to January 2019, where they led a large in-house creative studio and played a key role in shaping the customer and content strategy. Finally, they held the position of Head Of Brand from February 2019 to November 2020, responsible for shopper marketing, brand strategies, and analytics.

In 2012, Melanie briefly worked as a Premium Stylist at Jenni Button Luxury Fashion Brand.

In 2013, Melanie attended the POLIMODA International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing, where they obtained a Master's degree in Fashion Brand Management.
