Mohammed Benghezal has extensive work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical and research industries. Mohammed has held positions such as Head of Biology at Basilea Pharmaceutica, Global Program Leader Anti-Infectives at Debiopharm, and Member of the Steering Committee at the Cystic Fibrosis Syndicate in Antimicrobial Resistance. Mohammed has also worked as the Head of Microbiology and Antibiotic Research at Spexis AG and as the Managing Director at the Adolphe Merkle Institute. Prior to these roles, Benghezal was the Director at The Swiss Vitamin Institute and the Chief Scientist at Ondek Pty Ltd, where they made significant contributions to the development of novel oral delivery platforms for vaccines and biologics. Mohammed also has experience in academia, serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Geneva, where they conducted research on antibiotic discovery.
Mohammed Benghezal obtained a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg in the years 1987 to 1991. Mohammed then pursued a PhD in Biochemistry from the same university, completing it in the years 1992 to 1996.
