Igor Markiewicz

Igor Markiewicz is a highly experienced physiotherapist and sports professional currently serving as Lead Physio for the U20 Irish Men’s Team at Basketball Ireland since June 2019. Markiewicz also provides physiotherapy for the Irish Senior Men’s squad and the U16 Irish Women’s Team, among other roles. Simultaneously, Markiewicz works at Ulster University focusing on physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation across various sports teams. Additional contributions include serving as Lead Physio for Northern Ireland's FIBA 3x3 Team and involvement in sport event marketing and coaching through various organizations. Markiewicz is actively engaged in competitive basketball, playing for the Ulster University Tigers and previously for Killarney Cougars and UCD Marian. Education includes a current Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine from Ulster University and a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin.
