Benjamin Joannou has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Benjamin began their career as a Chef de range at Vilamoura in 1994. Later, they co-founded Carben Findings in 1998 and worked as a Partner, conducting research on the disclosure of listed companies and providing training to staff.
In 2000, Benjamin joined Ince Motiv as a Research Manager, where they focused on evaluating the quality of reporting by listed companies and offering recommendations for better disclosure. Benjamin also initiated the online reporting department as a joint venture with the Ince New Media team and provided sales support, project management, and strategic direction.
In 2002, Benjamin joined Bastion as the CEO, overseeing the online business and managing major financial communications projects for prominent listed blue-chip companies. Benjamin played a crucial role in developing corporate websites and online corporate reporting projects. Benjamin later transitioned into the role of Director.
In 2017, Benjamin took on the role of CEO at Bastion Graphics, leading a team of dedicated professionals, designers, setters, developers, and videographers. Benjamin considers himself privileged to be a part of such a talented team.
Their most recent work experience includes their position as the Director at Investor Relations Society South Africa, starting in 2022.
Benjamin Joannou completed their BComm degree in Legal, International Relations, and Business Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand between 1989 and 1993. Benjamin also obtained a Matric certificate from Roosevelt High School between 1984 and 1988. In 2013, they completed a course on Social Media from UCT Get Smarter.
