Shannon King

Shannon King has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Starting in 2001, they worked as an Elementary Educator for Fairfax County Public Schools until 2007. Shannon then held positions as an Advanced Academics Resource Teacher until 2009 and an Instructional Coach until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, Shannon was an Educational Specialist, focusing on teacher leadership and Professional Learning Communities. Shannon then became the Manager of Best Practices for Teaching & Learning from 2013 to 2018. In 2014, Shannon joined Thinking Collaborative as a Training Associate for Adaptive Schools. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Innovation Officer at Battelle for Kids since 2018.

From 1990 to 1996, Shannon attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music.

In the year 2000 through 2003, Shannon enrolled at George Mason University to earn a Master of Education (MEd) degree. Shannon'sfocus of study during this period was Curriculum & Instruction, specifically in Multicultural Education.

Shannon went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Educational Psychology from George Mason University from 2007 to 2010.

In 2012 to 2013, Shannon attended the University of Virginia to attain an Administrative Endorsement degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a general field of study.
