Jeana Somers, Head of BSA and Compliance

Jeana Somers has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Jeana began their career in 2000 as a Finance Associate at Wachovia Securities LLC (formerly Prudential Financial). In this role, they served as a liaison between trading desks, clients, outside prime brokers, and operations. Jeana was also responsible for securities processing, settlement, daily activity posting, fund disbursement, control monitoring, and data integrity for trading and compliance. In 2004, they moved to Paramount BioSciences as Manager of Operations, Restricted Securities and Trading, where they directed all trading operations, client services, and risk management activities. In 2007, they joined Emigrant Bank as VP Compliance Officer, where they were in charge of all KYC review, approval, onboarding procedures, and customer risk assessments for new and existing customers. In this role, they also oversaw client relationships and directly interfaced with commercial lending and private equity business units with portfolios totaling over $2B and 20 indirect reports. In 2023, they were appointed Head of BSA and Compliance at Battle Bank.

Jeana Somers, Head of BSA and Compliance, has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration, Finance from California State University-Dominguez Hills, which they obtained between 1993-1997. In 2021-2022, they completed a Master of Studies in Law in Corporate Compliance from Fordham University School of Law, from the Fordham School of Law Program in Corporate Ethics and Compliance. In addition, they have obtained certifications from the Corporate Compliance Committee (2016), BSA/AML Officer Certification (2016), BSA Committee Emigrant Bank (2015), and Notary Public, New York State (date unknown).
