Chief Engineering Director - Advanced Engineering at Battle Motors

Matthew Shurtz has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Matthew is currently the Chief Engineering Director - Advanced Engineering at Battle Motors (Crane Carrier), starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Product Manager at Fire-Dex from 2020 to 2022. From 2015 to 2020, Matthew was the Manager of Project Engineering at The Genie Company, where they oversaw new product development projects and implemented continuous improvement strategies. Before that, they held multiple roles at JLG Industries, including Project Manager II, Project Engineer - Powertrain, and Senior Design Engineer, where they successfully led cross-functional projects and supervised engineering teams. Matthew also gained experience at Caterpillar Inc as a Performance and NVH Engineer and Design Engineer, as well as at the National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration as a Graduate Research Associate.

Matthew Shurtz received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Matthew further pursued their education at The Ohio State University and completed their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2005 to 2006. In addition to their academic qualifications, Matthew Shurtz obtained certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in October 2014.
