Jyrki Mattila

Dr. Mattila serves as the Executive Vice President, Business Development. He was previously the Executive Vice President, Business Development at Recro Pharma from August 2017 to November 2019. Before his time at Recro, Mr. Mattila served as Chief Business Officer at Lipocine Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company, from 2010 to 2015, Dr. Mattila held executive management positions, serving as Chief Business Officer at iCeutica Inc. and as President and Chief Executive Officer at LZ Therapeutics, Inc. From 2003 to 2010, Dr. Mattila served as Executive Vice President, Business Development, Product Development, and Technical Operations, at Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he contributed to Auxilium’s growth from a private start-up to a publicly-traded specialty pharmaceutical company. From 1986 to 2003, Dr. Mattila held positions of increasing responsibility at Orion Corporation in business development, R&D, and executive general management.

Dr. Mattila served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Kansas Medical Center and holds an M.B.A. from the Helsinki School of Economics, a Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Helsinki, and an M.D. from the University of Helsinki Medical School.
