Kianni Ledezma

School And Community Programs Lead Educator at Bay Area Discovery Museum

Kianni Ledezma has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental education and community outreach. Beginning in 2014, Kianni worked as a Marketing and Finance Coordinator for the Twin Rivers Unified School District, where they assisted high school students with their marketing projects and managed the finances for a student-run salsa business. In 2016, Kianni served as a Garden Educator at Grant Union High School, leading field trips and teaching fifth-grade students about plant adaptation, pollinators, and cooking. From 2018 to 2019, Kianni worked as a Student Intern at California State University, Monterey Bay, teaching an environmental science ethnobotany class at a local middle school. They also engaged students in activities such as conducting interviews and planning landscape drawings. In 2019, Kianni joined the San Mateo County Office of Education as a Naturalist, leading groups of fifth and sixth-grade students through various natural environments and teaching hands-on lessons on plant and animal adaptation, sustainability, and conservation. In 2021, Kianni worked as an Environmental Educator at NatureBridge and currently serves as a School and Community Programs Lead Educator at the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

Kianni Ledezma has a Master of Education degree in Equity and Social Justice in Education from San Francisco State University, which was obtained between 2021 and 2023. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Environmental Education from California State University, Monterey Bay between 2017 and 2019. Kianni began their higher education journey at Sacramento City College from 2013 to 2017. In addition to their degrees, Kianni has obtained certifications in Certified GIS/GPS Mapping from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2018, and certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED from the American Red Cross and Wilderness First Aid from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in 2021.
