DeJanae Phillips is a skilled digital media producer with extensive experience in journalism and community engagement. Currently serving as a Digital Media Producer at Bay News 9 since March 2022, DeJanae previously worked as a Features Writer for Charter Communications, where the focus was on human-interest stories for a newsletter. Prior freelance work with the Tampa Bay Times involved writing feature stories for the Eastern Hillsborough County region. DeJanae has also held positions as a Community Manager for Fanatchicks Media, a News Writer for UCF College of Sciences, and a Digital Media Correspondent for the National Black MBA Association. Earlier experience includes contributing writing for the Orlando Sentinel. DeJanae holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Central Florida and an Associate's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Hillsborough Community College.
