Arron Pope began their career in 2002 as a Geologist IV at Stoller Newport News Nuclear (SN3), a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries. In this role, they began as an analyst and logging engineer, and worked up to Field Lead, and then Technical Lead for the Hanford Geophysical Logging Project. The project has been working continuously since 1995 to identify and quantify primarily gamma-emitting radionuclides (natural and manmade) employing laboratory-grade HPGe detectors, modified and optimized to run in borehole conditions above and below the water table. They also run a suite of other detectors, including neutron-neutron for determining soil moisture content, passive neutron, gross-gamma, etc. In 2018, Arron Pope moved to Bay West LLC, where they took on the role of Technical Lead for the Hanford Geophysical Logging Project.
Aaron Pope received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geology/Earth Science, General from the University of Washington between 1995 and 1998. Arron then went on to earn their Master's Degree (M.S.) in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Idaho State University between 1998 and 2002.
