Kari Solem, SPHR

Kari Solem, SPHR has a wealth of experience in Human Resources. Kari began their career in 1998 as Corporate Human Resources Leader and Companywide Recruiting Director at Brown and Caldwell. In this role, they drove recruiting for the company while also working as Human Resource Leader in direct collaboration with executive management. Kari then moved to Science Museum of Minnesota in 2007 as Senior Human Resource Strategic Leader, providing consultative guidance and coaching on various complex employee relation issues, recruiting, hiring, compensation, and terminations. In 2014, they became Human Resources Director at Minnesota Epilepsy Group, leading human resources for a dynamic level 4 trauma medical group with a union and non union workforce. In 2016, they took on the role of Human Resources Manager at Onto Innovation, providing solutions on a variety of subjects including organizational structure and development, employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition, and training. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Guild Services as Vice President and Director of Human Resources, and in 2022 they were promoted to Senior Director Human Resources at Bay West LLC.

Kari Solem, SPHR obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Human Services from Metropolitan State University. Kari then went on to earn a MAHRIR in Human Resources from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management between 2003 and 2006. In 2008, Kari obtained their Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and was also certified as a Senior Certified Professional by SHRM in 2015.
