Rishi Ramakrishnan has worked in a variety of roles in the technology and robotics fields. From 2018 to the present, they have been the Head of Product Development and Machine Learning Engineer at Baymatob, and the Chief Technology Officer at the same company. In 2018, they were also a Machine Learning Engineer at Abyss Solutions Pty Ltd. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher and Postgraduate Student at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics. During this time, they worked on a project involving the classification of objects in urban environments using Convolutional Neural Network approaches applied to both visual and 3D data. Rishi also developed a multi-modal object classification, pose estimation and tracking system. Additionally, they worked on achieving illumination invariance in visual data in remote sensing and robotics applications. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Tutor for Sensors and Signals at the University of Sydney, and in 2012 they were a Tutor for Biomechatronics at the same university.
Rishi Ramakrishnan completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2011. Rishi also completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the same university in 2011. Rishi then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Sydney, which they completed in 2015.
